Always been fascinated by the geography and ecology of remote islands. Any interesting books that are set on these islands? Preferably novels, but open to non fiction as well!
Lord of the Flies is the obvious one but if you want something more recent, check out The Island of Dr Moreau or maybe Shutter Island for that psychological thriller vibe. Also heard good things about The Luminous Dead but that’s more sci-fi cave diving than island vibes

“Island of the Blue Dolphins” by Scott O’Dell. It’s about a girl whose tribe leaves the island they inhabited, accidentally leaving her behind and she has to survive by herself. Quite a sad book, but worth the read.

A Light Between Oceans sorta falls into this. The main character staffs a lighthouse alone on an island.

“
And The Sea Will Tell”
It was written by the same guy that wrote Helter skelter and even though it’s non-fiction it’s a hell of a good book. I would bet money that you won’t be able to put it down once you start it !!!
