I am looking to open my mind to seeing things through a different lens, finding new ways to notice things, reawaken my curiosity. That could be through philosophy, journaling prompts — I think I want something more instructive than solely left to my interpretation, if that makes sense. I’ve enjoyed Pema Chödron and Jack Kornfield when I’ve wanted to scratch this itch but I’m open to other philosophies or fully secular books. TIA

I definitely recommend self help books, along with meditation! It’s amazing what our streams of consciousness deduce when given the opportunity to do so. You can then write down your thoughts in a notebook and form them into cohesive thoughts!
Definitely check out “The Art of Noticing” by Rob Walker – it’s basically 131 exercises to help you see everyday stuff differently without being preachy about it. Super practical and you can just flip to any page when you need a brain reset
Alan Watts – The Book: On the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are. This book changed the way I see the world.
A book that did this for me was The Dispossessed by Ursula Le Guin
