Help! I've made some great progress on my reading goal already, but my TBR is looking pretty uninspired. TBH, it kinda feels like that scene from Pee-Wee's Big Adventure when he's saving animals from the burning pet shop and keeps side-eyeing the snakes until last. So I may just blow it up completely.

ANYWAY, here are some of my favorite recent reads, but I'd like to find others that kinda match my vibe.

    ★★★★★
Between Two Fires, by Christopher Buehlman
    Giovanni's Room, by James Baldwin
The Sword of Kaigen, by ML Wang
I Who Have Never Known Men, by Jacqueline Harpman
    Chain-Gang All-Stars, by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah

    ★★★★
    Animal Farm, by George Orwell
    Hierarchy series, by James Islington
Red Rising series, by Pierce Brown
The Only Good Indians, by Stephen Graham Jones
On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous, by Ocean Vuong

    ★★★
    Katabasis, by RF Kuang
The God of the Woods, by Liz Moore
    Atalanta, by Jennifer Saint
Bury Your Bones in the Midnight Soil, by VE Schwab
Harriet Tubman: Live in Concert, by Bob the Drag Queen

Reading Handmaid’s Tale right now, as a matter of fact! Read North Woods last year and really enjoyed it. Demon Copperhead has been downloaded on my Kindle for-ev-er, but it’s very much in the “Pee-Wee’s snakes” category. Maybe I should just put on my big girl pants and do the damn thing. Thanks for the recommendations (and nudge).
