Help! I've made some great progress on my reading goal already, but my TBR is looking pretty uninspired. TBH, it kinda feels like that scene from Pee-Wee's Big Adventure when he's saving animals from the burning pet shop and keeps side-eyeing the snakes until last. So I may just blow it up completely.
ANYWAY, here are some of my favorite recent reads, but I'd like to find others that kinda match my vibe.

Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler
Immaculate Conception – Ling Ling Huang (no, not about THAT immaculate conception! **:D** )
Another Country by James Baldwin
Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood (or Alias Grace if you’ve already read Handmaid’s)
North Woods by Daniel Mason
Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver
Reading Handmaid’s Tale right now, as a matter of fact! Read North Woods last year and really enjoyed it. Demon Copperhead has been downloaded on my Kindle for-ev-er, but it’s very much in the “Pee-Wee’s snakes” category. Maybe I should just put on my big girl pants and do the damn thing. Thanks for the recommendations (and nudge).
Also some libraries have an ask a librarian so suggestions. We always get excited when people ask for book recommendations.
