I’d like books on the history of the Parliamentary Democracy in general and the British Parliament in Particular

Check out “The People’s House” by David Kynaston – covers the social side of Parliament really well and shows how ordinary folks gradually got more power over the centuries. Also Walter Bagehot’s “The English Constitution” is old but still slaps for understanding how the whole system actually works vs how it’s supposed to work on paper
