Homeland Elegies—Ayad Akhtar
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay—Michael Chabon

Strangers on a Train—Patricia Highsmith
Park Bench—Christophe Chaboute
Everything We Never Had—Randy Ribay
Hell of a Book—Jason Mott
The Day of the Jackal—Frederick Forsyth
A Short Stay in Hell—Steven L. Peck
This is the most I’ve ever read in a month. It was probably 50% reading and 50% listening, so the purists may say I didn’t “read” them all. but, I consider them “read.”
Several were pretty short (A Short Stay in Hell, in particular) one Park Bench was a graphic novel, so it was easy to finish in about an hour.
My favorites: Goodbye, Vitamin, Kavalier & Clay, A Short Stay in Hell, Everything We Never Had
Here’s to more great stories in 2026! I’ve just started Let The Great World Spin by Colum McCann.
