A multi year victim of gaslighting here. I once got to the point where my brain stopped trusting in its ability to even form memories. My memories were not valid if it wasn't acknowledged by my gaslighter. I had lost all sense of autonomy. I could not remember the contents of a page that I read 10 seconds prior.
Slowly but surely I'm rebuilding myself. Reading books have helped me a lot in rediscovering myself. I'm alive today solely because of Discourses by Epictetus. I've also read the four agreements, Epicurus and The Courage to be Disliked (absolutely loved it).

Damn, glad you’re healing from that mess. “Why Does He Do That?” by Lundy Bancroft really helped me understand the patterns and tactics – might give you some validation about what you went through. Also “The Body Keeps the Score” is heavy but super eye-opening about how trauma affects memory and perception
