I am about to finish A Thousand Splendid Suns, and boy, did I love it, and it was devastating. I love these books that tell me the history of the country they are set in, or that is relevant to the story. I'm okay with that history being US history as well, but I mainly want to focus on the Middle East, various regions of Asia, Africa, and mainly with a focus on Latin America. I think I like the format of something pre-/during a historical event, leading up to more modern day, but it doesn't need to be that exactly. Thank you all so much!
