What are some suggestions for books you would give to a new reader? I did not grow up reading books but I have a lot of free time right now and would love get into the habit of it. The only true novel I have read in my life (besides listening to audio books) was A Thousand Splendid Suns which was truly heartbreaking. I would not mind reading something like that again but any suggestions for a newbie would be appreciated!
