Hello, im looking for a coming of age—set maybe at the end of hs, preferably at college or beyond—about a FMC that faces life, her akwardnesss, and uncertainty. Slightly existenial, I just want a story where someone grows, come to terms with themselves, and learns about life in general.
I liked "some day this pain will be useful to you" and think that its tone may be similar to what i am looking for. I genunely am not a fan of modern comercial writting and themes (like the 7 husbands of Evelyn Hugo, tomorrow, tommorow, and tommorow). I would like the story to focus more on the existantial aspect, and for it to not be particualrly quirky. I think there are many books like this with male MC (Stoner, Cather in the Rye, etc), though not many with FMC.
Moreover, I am not looking for a read like the Bell Jar (though I liked it), as, I felt, her gender and feminism were a major theme in her book. I am looking for a novel that doesn't explore gender specifically, but the overall universal human condition through a modern (like 1990 and beyond) female lense.
Sorry if its too specific lol.
