I am already taking some therapy sessions but I want to do some homework
My mind often defaults to old patterns and negative thinking very frequently . I want to work on that . So can you please suggest any books which has actionable steps for brain rewiring etc

honestly “mindset” by carol dweck was a game changer for me when i was stuck in similar patterns. it’s not some woo-woo stuff but actual research on how you can literally rewire your brain to think differently about challenges and setbacks
i also really liked “atomic habits” by james clear – not specifically about negative thinking but it teaches you how to build tiny systems that compound over time. helped me create little daily practices that slowly shifted my default mental state. like i started doing this 2-minute morning thing where i just write down one thing i’m looking forward to that day, sounds dumb but it actually worked
“the body keeps the score” is heavier reading but incredible for understanding how trauma and fear get stored in your brain and body. fair warning though it can be intense so maybe save it for when you’re feeling more stable. combining books with therapy is smart, gives you stuff to actually practice between sessions
