Hi, everyone! I am looking for recommendations for history books that are readable to someone without a PhD, but are also well researched and well written. Think: academic history with a strong narrative.
I’m open to reading about any time period, (though I am particularly interested in 19th century.) If “Western,” I’m looking for books that focus specifically on the experiences of women, children, and/or people of color.
Thank you!
