I had my baby four months ago, the first few months were a hard road. We had a traumatic delivery which immediately led to PPD/A and subsequent treatment for that and for the PTSD from birth trauma.
For Christmas my husband gifted me a copy of Tantrum by Rachel Eve Moulton. I found it so cathartic to read. I felt so seen, so heard. She captured many emotions I have felt and put them on paper. I felt a lot less alone.
Any suggestions that are similar? I would prefer books that do not have graphic depictions of traumatic births. I am more looking for storylines of mothers grappling with societal woes and expectations of motherhood, perhaps mothers also facing PPD/A and/or rage.
It felt very healing to read Tantrum. I even used this as a discussion point in therapy to help articulate some of the difficult emotions I have been working through. Would love to have more examples, or rather representation.

I’ve only seen the movie (though I definitely wish I had read the book first), but I think *Nightbitch* might work for you.
It’s the secondary storyline, but still a big part of This Has Been Absolutely Lovely by Jessica Dettman. You can skip the birth scene if you prefer, it’s in the middle of the book.
