I want a fantasy book with a mmc that simps so hard for the fmc from the moment they meet. I dont want a enemies to lovers, I want the man to want her immediately. I don't mind if it is slow burn or if they get together quickly as long as it's clear to the reader how much he's in love with her. Also I would like for the fantasy element of the book to be good as well 😋. I think an ember in the ashes is a good example of what I want, where he thought she was perfect the moment he saw her. Oh man, have you read the Kushiel series by Jacqueline Carey? Joscelin is literally devoted to Phèdre from day one – like sworn bodyguard level of dedication that turns into the most intense pining you’ll ever see. He’s constantly torn between duty and wanting her, and it’s chef’s kiss levels of simping. The world-building is absolutley incredible too, set in an alternate medieval France with angels and gods and political intrigue. It’s definitely more adult than some fantasy but the devotion aspect is exactly what you’re looking for. Fair warning though, the first book is thicc so it’s a commitment, but totally worth it if you want a guy who would literally die for the FMC without question.
