I just read { A 5 Minute life by Emma Scott} and i genuinely am shooketh. I had to google, does this book have a hea even though it falls on romance. I was so scared. I mean still sad though. The emotional rollercoaster it put me through
The plot : He is an orderly working at a mental institutio. He thought she wasn’t a patient at first but realizes her memories resets every 5 minutes. She’s not living. She has the same routine, the same conversation over and over. I was thinking how would they manage a romance like this? And, god Emma Scott did. Every new convo with her is different with him and you get the feeling that she is stuck inside. It’s not that her memories resets every 5 minutes.
the double meaning in the title is so sad too. at first i thought, why did thr author chose 5 minutes? If she was going to have short term amnesia anyways, why not make it 60 minutes so more romance could develop? But, then you found out that he is the one that has been living the 5 minute life. He did nothing. He lives only to exists. Hus life is summarize in 5 minutes. No loved ones, no chance to open up and make new connections.
