I just finished the 3rd volume & there are some things that I cannot really wrap my head around.
I. If someone travels somewhere on the 18th, where do they wake up on the next 18th? There was the instance where Henry went with his lover (cannot remember her name) somewhere. And she woke up in that new place & it was confusing for her, right. Does this happen to everyone who is not trapped in the 18th? E.g. Hypothetically, say Thomas decides to travel by his own desire and not because Tara influenced him. Would he wake up in his home in Clairon or in the place he travelled?
II. In a similar vein, what happens to those who end up in hospital or prison through the course of the 18th? Do they remain there OR do they "apparate" back to their original starting points? Would this be different if someone who was trapped witnessed them? I truly do not understand the potential for apparition.
III. How much influence do those trapped in the 18th have over the lives of other people? E.g. Could they cause a permanent death? Or would the person come back to life the next 18th? We understand that they are working on preventing death in Vol. 3 in the case that time starts to progress randomly. BUT, is it different if said death is caused by someone trapped in the 18th?
I guess the thing I struggle to understand most is the apparition of bodies from one place to another. Especially, as the only person (not trapped) we truly have gotten in-depth insight into is Thomas, and his routine is pretty substandard with no need to transport from his ending point to his beginning point.
