I've read tons of sci-fi:
All of Andy Weir
All of John Scalzi
The Bobiverse
Blake Crouch (Upgrade, Dark Matter, Recursion)
Hitchhiker's Guide
Many others.
My personal favorite of them all is Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir (super stoked about the upcoming movie), but I wondered what most of Reddit's favorite Sci-Fi books are, perhaps I can add them to my list of upcoming reads!

Not sure I can pick but The Broken Earth trilogy by NK Jemisin had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.
Expeditionary Force. I can’t get enough. It’s actually more in the “space opera” genre like Starship Troopers, which is also terrific.
The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula Le Guin
Rosewater by Tade Thompson
Really dig Children of Time and the ensuing books by Adrian Tchaikovsky.
Also the Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons
The Culture series by Iain Banks. Especialy Use of Weapons, Look To Windward, Excession, Hydrogen Sonata, Surface Detail.
Tough to pick a favorite.
First book of “The expanse” gripped me cover to cover and actually is what got me into reading fiction.
I thought “blood music” was one of the most creative applications ive read of a dense scientific theory, to a really creepy fictional idea.
And lately my current favorite remains “there is no anti memetics division” which is just a super interesting book that fucks with your mind. I think I like it a lot because I was ready for some sci fi that didn’t have a dense amount of science terminology. More of a light sci fi.
I feel like you’re about to be flooded with people saying The Expanse and then others saying Red Rising.
Reddit loves those series, I’m surprised they’ve missed your lists honestly!
Ubik by Philip K Dick
A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter M Miller Jr.
The Ferryman by Justin Cronin
I’m halfway through Project Hail Mary right now.
I’ve heard good things about Shroud by Adrian Tchaikovsky
I’m a big fan of Murderbot Diaries.
The Expanse series is great.
Foundation trilogy.
Cat’s Cradle by Vonnegut
I’m not a big sci-fi reader, but I love Leviathan Wakes and all the books that come after.
It’s a tough choice but its hard to beat Dune.
The Emancipator trilogy by Ray Aldridge.
