A Confederacy of Dunces is probably my favorite fiction book of all time. One of the only books I’ve ever read where I had to stop and put it down because of how hard I was laughing.
A couple weeks ago in a thread about it, someone suggested Into the Hills, Young Master by Alex Branson and I ordered it.
It is so funny and a spiritual sequel to Confederacy. The narrator is basically what would happen if Ignatious lived in modern times.
Highly reccomend and curious if anyone that has read it or Confederacy and has any suggestions on similar books.

Just added this to my reading list, thanks for the rec! Confederacy had me dying laughing too, especially the valve scene. If you’re looking for similar vibes, might want to check out The Sellout by Paul Beatty – different style but equally unhinged narrator energy.
