I am looking for books on manipulation and dark psychology or anything on sociopaths. I just got out of a relationship with a sociopath and I didn't realize he was one until almost a decade later. Im afraid that these types of people are drawn to me and id like to research this stuff so I can steer clear of these people in the future.

damn, that’s a rough situation to be in. i went through something similar a few years back and found “the gift of fear” by gavin de becker super helpful – it’s more about trusting your gut instincts when something feels off. “in sheep’s clothing” by george simon is another solid one specifically about manipulative people and their tactics. honestly though, the most eye-opening thing for me was learning about love bombing and how these types come on super strong at the beginning to hook you in. once you know what to look for, it becomes way easier to spot the red flags early on instead of getting sucked into their web for years.
