For abfew years now, every book I’ve picked up from my local library and friends reccomendations have just seemed like first person generic love triangle slop. I love non-romance and books that aren’t marketed as romance but contain great romance plots anyway, and as I grew up those kind of books became harder to find for me. I haven’t read non fiction in years and want to get back into it. lately I’ve been drawn to light novels but ufortunately the translations and language barrier makes the books not very enjoyable writing wise, so I’m looking to see if anyone could reccomend me some romance books? Maybe YA ish? thank you!

honestly try some korean or chinese webnovels if you can find decent translations – they have completely different romance tropes than western stuff and avoid the whole love triangle mess. also maybe check out some older ya fantasy series from the 2000s before everything became super formulaic, they usually had romance as a subplot rather than the main focus which sounds like what youre after
