I read a ton of heavy topic fiction, horror, etc books because I love them but also because the plot lines are really good.
I want to take a break and read a cute fiction book about like bakeries or something but I don’t particularly want romance, also don’t want boring.

the house in the cerulean sea by tj klune might hit that sweet spot – it’s about a caseworker who visits a magical orphanage and it’s genuinely heartwarming without being saccharine. also check out anxious people by fredrik backman, it’s technically about a hostage situation but it’s more like a cozy hug in book form with some really solid character development.
