I always read books and watch movies that are set between like 1700 and 2000 lol and I kind of want to read something that has a more contemporary setting and reflects modern technology/lifestyles/problems. So something set in the past 5 years.
Preferrably an adventure novel, something thrilling and exciting (like a Jules Vernes or Doc Savage), but something that’s set in our world, not sci fi or fantasy. I don’t mind some scifi or fantasy elements, but I would like it to stay grounded for the most part.
I’d just like something that captures the feeling of exploring something new and exciting (I really love the optimism and wonderment Jules Verne had for technology of the time in his novels) but set in our current times and on our planet.
