Vague prompt but – looking for writers like (and can highly recommend for those who haven't read them) Tom Robbins, Nick Harkaway, Viktor Pelevin, etc. (Etc. because that's why I'm here – to find more! Although I've definitely forgotten some good examples…).
Incredible use of language, wildly creative tales, some magical realism (not required) but not fantasy (very open to sci fi a la Iain M Banks, Ursula le Guin and Margaret Atwood though), strange rabbit holes and the occasional undercurrent of social commentary.
Any suggestions? Also – I know I said up top, but highly recommend all authors listed.
