I usually read nonfiction about politics, natural disasters, war, genocide, and things like that. It's usually super depressing or infuriating, and I've read a lot of fiction lately because I can't handle my preferred nonfiction topics right now. I'd like to get back into nonfiction, I just need some help finding books with a different mood.

I'm interested in science, geology, volcanoes, feminism, lesbianism, and niche topics that I didn't know you could write a book about, like the history of fonts or whatever.I don't like self help books or super sappy things.

    Thank you in advance!

    1. I really love nonfiction that’s about random, niche topics. One of the best books like this that I’ve read recently is Pedestrianism: When Watching People Walk Was America’s Favorite Spectator Sport by Matthew Algeo. Not depressing, not worrying, just really random and fascinating.

The Lost City of Z and The Lost City of the Monkey God are both great adventures about finding lost civilizations. Braiding Sweetgrass is a beautiful book about indigenous philosophy. The Wager is a riveting shipwreck take.
