What are books that would feel empowering for bad-ass older women? Fiction or not. Like Miranda July's All Fours. Is Strength to Strength by Arthur Brooks good? I already need the story of the protestors in Minneapolis, but it hasn't been written yet. Practical Magic is another good example for vibes. thanks for other recs!

Definitely check out “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” if you haven’t already – older Hollywood icon telling her story on her own terms is peak badass energy 🔥 Also “Circe” by Madeline Miller hits that magical realism vibe like Practical Magic but with more mythological power moves. For non-fiction, “Untamed” by Glennon Doyle is pretty solid for that whole breaking free from expectations thing 😂
The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty. Incredibly inventive and so well written.  Fearsome lady pirate comes out of retirement for one last big job.  It’s set in the 1100’s Indian Ocean and early Crusaders are the bad guys. Such a fun read and a great balance for heavier books.Â
