Just read a couple of cold war books, the Precipice by Toby Ord and "If anyone builds it, we all die" about the incoming AGI apocalypse.
Keen for any other books about either how close we came to the end of the world, or how it's coming soon

dude check out “the sixth extinction” by elizabeth kolbert – its about how were basically living through a mass extinction event right now and most people dont even realize it. also “the uninhabitable earth” by david wallace-wells is pretty intense about climate change scenarios that’ll mess you up. both are solid nonfiction that’ll make you wonder how your still sleeping at night lol
