    1. From most to least pages my favorites are:

To Be Taught, If Fortunate by Becky Chambers

The River Has Roots by Amal El-Mohtar

The Six Deaths of the Saint by Alix E. Harrow

    2. *The English Understand Wool* by Helen deWitt. It’s such a perfectly concocted little story – with all the drama, intrigue and tension that many authors could only achieve with a much lengthier book.

    3. – The Testament of Mary, Colm Toibin
      – Of Mice And Men, John Steinbeck
      – Small Things Like These, Claire Keegan

I’m not exact on the page counts but they’re all v short!

    4. A Short Stay in Hell by Steven L Peck (110 pages).

Various Stephen King short stories — highly recommend The Jaunt.

    5. *Chronicle of a Death Foretold*, Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

*The Vegetarian*, Han Kang (okay, 158 pages).

      *The Stranger,* Albert Camus.

      *Seize the Day*, Saul Bellow.

*We Have Always Lived in the Castle*, Shirley Jackson (152 pages).

      *Civil Disobedience,* Henry David Thoreau.

A lot of plays, like *Long Day’s Journey into Night* (O’Neill),
