I'm in college now (3rd year) and haven’t picked up a book for fun since i was in 8th grade. In elementary and middle school, I was a total book addict, I loved reading constantly. My favorite genre was dystopian (Legend, Divergent, Hunger Games, Maze Runner, etc.).
After 8th grade, life got busy with high school, I picked up other hobbies, and I basically stopped reading. Now, a few years later into college, I’ve lost most of those high school hobbies and want to try getting into reading again.
The problem is, I’m kind of lost about what genre I really like anymore, since I haven’t read in so long, and I’m unsure what book to start with. I’m not a huge fantasy person, but I’m open to dystopia, realistic fiction, historical fiction, and basically anything else that’s engaging. I like romance as part of the story but definitely need some other plot too. I’ve tried a few times over the past 7 years to get back into reading, but I always seem to pick the wrong book and can never finish it.
tl;dr: I want a book that’ll hook me and help me fall back in love with reading after 7 years. Any recommendations?
