I plan on majoring in psychology, and overall in the state of my education of things I should know science, history, politics, etc., wise, I think I would definitely benefit from doing lots of reading and forming my own opinions and getting a separate education outside of public schooling. However, the vast amount of literature of the world has to offer is so overwhelming, and I do not necessarily have a wise person in my life that I can talk to or get good recommendations of things to read, so I figured this might be the best place. I am looking very generally about America, history, science, philosophy, psychology, social relations/politics, astronomy, etc.. just things in general that I should absolutely read to become immature and educated person as I pursue college. I lean left politically, but I also want to be educated in things like modern news and politics, etc.. and just understand more things in general than I do right now, I just feel lost in it all and stupid.
