i'm a 10 yo girl who used to read a lot but realized that i havent much since summer. the reason: i came upon SO many boring books in a row that i stopped.
thats why i am here, to ask for suggestions. i will try and explain what kind of books i like with examples:
BOOKS I LIKE/ LOVE: Mr Lemoncellos Library (whole series), ALL of the front desks, the Vanderbeekers, The Swifts (not fav but solid book) Out of my mind, esperanza rising, fish in a tree, number the start, winn dixie, Ivan series, walk two moons, the giver series
BOOK I HAVE BEEN SUGGESTED, READ/ ATTEMPTED TO READ AND DISLIKED: spy school, funjungle series, percy jackson, harry potter (imma try agn) wonder, frindle, freckle juice, hatchet (sorta like it?) The girl who drank the moon
i would love to read books with fun ish characters, such as the ones i mentioned among my favorites. i read the first harry potter book a long time ago and it was boring honestly . i cant stand girl who drank the moon because i find it boring and lullaby ish. i LOVE reading books with mystery but realistic scenes, the more fun the better. give me any author who doesnt skip the mystery or realism.
i like realistic, inspiring and motivational books with strong characters who overcome obstacles. Trueish stories are the best, mystery are cool too (even if they arent completely realistic). fantasy isnt my thing, you can still rec them though :). i suppose a common denominator for many of the books i dont like is that they are too fantasy.
please come with suggestions! ty!
