I love historical fiction. I love learning. I love memoirs about people who have lived through wars. I’ve read books about people escaping North Korea, books about people living / surviving in wars, and the effects of racism/hate. To me, it’s important to be aware of this stuff.
But it’s taking a toll on me. The world’s not exactly in a great place right now, so I read to escape, but even my escape is sad.
Can someone recommend, not necessarily a book (but if ideas come, certainly!), but genres or types of books? Maybe wars, but with happy endings. Maybe government corruption, but it ends *good*. I know there aren’t always good endings. I just need something that isn’t going to feed into my depression about how cruel the world is.
