So long ago, I read Crank by Ellen Hopkins and it absolutely devastated me like core memory, never the same again, shaped me partly into the person I am today type ruined me. And I am searching for this same type of feeling. I want to just be destroyed once again by a book. I enjoy the darkness that Crank brought and her other books as well but I cant find anything thats quite itches this scratch. Ive seen like the TikTok “booktok” and haven’t found one that really interests me. I read Crank in one night it got me so quick. I also struggle to get into a book if the first few pages don’t drag me in. For example, Im currently reading Violet is Nowhere by Faith Gardener ( read her first book in this “universe” called Amen Maxine and it was very good!) and I keep putting it down because I cant stand one of the main characters. Good story like but I really don’t one of the main characters. Any suggestions would be more than appreciated✨
