I know that there are many books with regular people discovering a fantasy world through a portal, people acquiring/being born with a magical power in the real world, people discovering some godlike being where the being already knows all about humans.
Are there any reverse portal fantasy books where it’s a complete surprise to the fantasy people that our world exists?
I’m imagining that some people in a magical world are tired of power struggles or injuries from unstable magic but can’t do much about it, then someone discovers a portal into our world. They could be interested in the relative simplicity of our regular world and delight in whatever scientific advances we have that they don’t.
