“Wedding people” by Alison Espach is my favorite book right now. I like seeing the main character’s journey from depression to inner peace. I would like there to be romance in the book, whether it’s the main plot or a subplot. It’s February so I need the author to be a Black person! Any recs?

I loved The Wedding People! I immediately thought of “Such a Fun Age” by Kiley Reid. It’s not exactly hitting all of your requests, but the style is similar and I enjoyed it as well.

    2. Depending on what it was about Wedding People you liked, I think Seven Days in June is a good fit. Tia Williams explicitly states that her books feature Black characters and explore Black love, and SDOJ is a great example of that, well-written, and a very engaging/emotional story.
