This is kind of weird because it’s sort of a memoir of their journey with some science and very little practical “how to”, but Altered Traits by Daniel Goleman and Richard J Davidson was the tipping point that convinced me to start taking steps towards meditation.
I was probably also primed for it by Stealing Fire by Steven Kotler and Jamie Wheal, which is more anecdotal and less scientific than I tend to prefer, but did have enough that’s consistent with my knowledge of psychology to intrigue me.
Meditation is awesome.
