My team at work (5 women ages ranging 30-50) is starting a book club and I’m in charge of compiling a list of books.
I’m looking for a mystery/thriller, historical fiction, or a motivational self-help book, but open to other suggestions! Must be under 400 pages and safe for work.

The Plot, by Jean Hanff Korelitz
Lessons in chemistry
Mrs. Bridge by Evan S. Connell
Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann
Historical fiction, A Land Remembered by Patrick Smith. It’s family saga that takes place in Florida from the 1860s to the 1960s, basically.
Anything by Gillian Flynn is great for mystery/thriller, but she can be a little much for some people. If she is, nearly anything by Charlie Donlea will do. Those slot more into kind of Lifetime-ish movies, but they’re still quite good. I’ve never been bored by anything of is. Twenty Years Later and Don’t Believe It are good.
Burial Rites by Hannah Kent, historical fiction based on the true story of the last woman executed for murder in Iceland. I think it could lead to some really interesting discussions!
Project Hail Mary before the movie comes out or The Adventures of Amina Al Sarafi.
Give and Take by Adam Grant
Anything by Kate Quinn. The Briar Club, The Alice Network or The Rose Code.
