I recently got back into reading after about 10 years of forgetting how much I loved it.
I devoured the whole Sarah J Maas universe and loved it (Throne of Glass is my Roman Empire).
I read Mistborn and Stormlight with my husband and those were good, but not life altering for me.
I could NOT make it through the Wheel of Time.
I wasn't overwhelmed with enthusiasm by Fourth Wing but then Iron Flame had me captivated until the end when the biggest gut punch ever happened and it's giving me flashbacks to a particular death in The Walking Dead where I could not watch another episode ever again and it's making me very sad. I was unfortunately spoiled and I know that Onyx Storm does not resolve this gut punch and I'm not in a mental state to read nothing but sadness right now, so I'm going to set that book back on the shelf until the next in the series comes out so I can have hope for a light at the end of the tunnel if that makes sense.
Ok so thats a general idea of my taste in books and now I humbly beg of you to recommend me books that are along the lines of SJM universe or Fourth Wing, but maybe ones that are already complete and don't add to the anxiety that I'm trying to escape.
