I’ve been going through the Epstein files and honestly… it’s messing with my head. I feel like my nervous system is fried and I’m losing faith in humanity. I really need book recs that slow the heart rate a bit and remind me that not all humans are monsters. I’m struggling.
If anyone’s been in this spiral and found books that helped, please share. Fiction is fine, as long as it brings some warmth back. Just something gentle, humane, grounding.
Thanks in advance.

Monk and Robot by Becky Chambers
LM Montgomery is great for this. The Anne of Green Gables books, or The Blue Castle (others, too, but I always think of these.)
The House in the Cerulean Sea and its sequel would be a panacea. If you can deal with magical realism, you will NOT be disappointed if you read them. And so uplifting.
Fred the Vampire Accountant by Drew Hayes, also his NPCs series.
Murderbot by Martha Wells.
Penric and Desdemona by Lois McMaster Bujold.
Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers.
