Im 21 idk if this helps with the recommendations but i need something where the writing isnt overly formal pr complicated sentence structures where ill loose the plot easily
Ast time i was reading i was a teenager and i read juvenile books( is that what its called?)
I want something to be written to engage me like these books but not necessarily qith their plots.
I dont really care about what the book is
Preferably a novel, preferably not romance
Im really desperate into getting into reading again and i know im not gonna pull throigh if the book isnt in a good writing style
I heard of these books that seem dark and up my ally:
Lord of the flies
All tomorrows
The Butcher’s Table by Nathan Ballingrud
Survivor Type by Stephen King ( i tried stephan king before but u gave up after a page idk why his books have such complicated writing too. Although i tried a different book and read through it with ease so maybe its different?)
The School by Donald Barthelme ( i like school themed stories 🙂
The Hospice by Robert Aickman
A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay
The Ones who walk away from Omelas by
Ursula K Le Guin
A Short Stay in Hell by Steven L Peck
The Screwfly Solution by Raccoona (Alice) Sheldon
There Will Come Soft Rains by Ray Bradbury
Library of Babel by Jorge Luis Borges
Has anyone read these books? I havent looked into them beyond some simple plot ideas. But is it in a simple nice writing style or is it in old english or something ;;(
