My boyfriend has started reading to me before bed, we have a short list but if you have any specifc ideas that would really fit us, I'd love to add more.
Nothing scary or intense or hard to follow, as I am usually half asleep as he reads to me.
We plan to alternate a manga/comic/graphic novel/poetry book or otherwise short book like that with a novel.
So far, we have started The Girl from the Other Side and The Little Price, and have The Lord of the Rings, The Thief Lord, Howl's Moving Castle and some Star Wars books on our list.
We both love fantasy, but it can be hard to follow when he's reading it to me at bedtime. We obviously love Star Wars, and I think that'll be easier to follow as I've seen the films and know what will happen. Same with TLoTR, although I haven't seen that yet we plan to watch it first.
We also like children's/middle grade, that's cute and cosy.
Things with short chapters are a bonus because then it's easily partitioned for what we read each night!
