I hate the "Ned" culture in this country, I hate how little empathy anyone has for each other, I hate the nationalism and I hate how I feel about it. Looking for classic (playing fast and loose with the definition of classic) books that cover themes like alienation, anti-nationalism, discontent with life, and the general lack of empathy we feel towards each other. (I know I sound like a massive fucking loser, lmao.)

Not the whole book, but Joe Abercrombie’s The Devils has a couple of snarky comments about Britain
I don’t have a suggestion but I’m commenting because I’m also curious
Sir Terry Pratchett is what you need, but unfortunately it is not what you want.
Like Going Postal, maybe
Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde? There’s some alienation in Hyde’s character. Or hey, how about Trainspotting? It was a novel before it became a movie.
Serious suggestion: look into emigrating. You’ll be happier.
