Hello all! I know the title seems a bit dreamy but ive been in a bit of a slump lately with things seeming very negative in both my personal life and the world.
I was hoping someone could recommend me some good, gut wrenching books about characters who are SET on doing what they believe is right. Im not saying characters who are never sad, just characters who work as hard as they can to create a better world or even just to save one person they care for.

I just finished rereading the hunger games trilogy AND the prequels (Sunrise on The Reaping was so horribly sad but I loved it). Katniss' determination to save her sister, and to somehow find happiness even after the …incident… was heartwrenching.
I also love the newest iteration of Superman (ik the movie is not a book but humor me). A character who truly does his best to be good despite having all the power in the world, just because he believes it is right. Pushing past his limits to help even strangers.
Does anyone have any books that have this sort of main character? They dont necessarily need to have world-saving, completely altruistic motives. Like I said I loved Katniss and she did not hesitate to kill for those she loved (and would 100% put them above herself and the "greater good").
I'm fine with romance if it adds to the character but id prefer if it wasnt a romcom or anything like that.
