can yall give me some good recs that are not just yappin word salad long descriptions of things?? give me some good plot or dialogue etc. a story so good that it alone will keep me engaged, and don’t need to rely on pretentious exposition
ex. just ready Jeanette McCurdy’s newest book “Half His Age” and loved the straight and to the point writing

dang i totally get what you mean about word salad books. those ones where authors spend like 3 pages describing a sunset make me want to throw the book at wall lol
if you liked mccurdy’s style, maybe try “the seven husbands of evelyn hugo” by taylor jenkins reid? super engaging plot and dialogue carries everything. also “klara and the sun” by ishiguro is pretty straightforward despite being literary fiction – no unnecessary fluff there.
Project Hail Mary and The Will of the Many are both action focused with little to no internal dialogue and great worldbuilding that’s not just random words tossed together!
