I loved reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, I bought it on a trip to NYC and it came highly recommended – it did not disappoint. I like how it tells a unique story of how Brooklyn was way back when.
I currently live in London for the last 4 years and often wonder about the story behind several neighborhoods – how they were like in the early 1900 or how the city started changing and growing. I don't want a proper history book but historical fiction type like A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Any suggestions?
