My father is showing increasing signs of Alzheimer’s – suggest me a book

Hey Reddit-

Over the past three years I’ve watched my 75 (now 78) year old father increasingly forgetting things like the date, repeating the same joke or story (sometimes 4-5 times in a row) and often prefaced with “I don’t know if I told you this before but (repeats). He’s recently been experiencing extreme depression and anxiety and doesn’t remember to take medications, won’t feed himself if alone, and recently forgot my sister passed away nearly 10 years ago. We’ve been on the doctors since last June to get him in for testing, MRI came back normal and he’s waitlisted for clinical trials at a reputable medical center.

I’m working 60 hours a week and having a tough time balancing care and work (he’s 90 miles away and I need to be there when his GF is working and unavailable).

I could really use some resources to help me navigate the legalities, emotional and situational intricacies of this disease. He’s a veteran living in California.
