I have two separate themes that I’m looking for today (and just a warning I love going into a book blind so feel free not to explain your recommendation)
First: Water Horror/exploration
Examples I have read:
Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant
House at the Bottom of the Lake by Josh Malerman
We Shall Sing a Song into the Deep (this had a very strong religious overtone and would like to avoid in future)
Second: I’m going with Robots/Artificial Intelligence
Examples I have read:
RUR by Capek
Murderbot by Martha Wells
Sea of Rust by C Robert Cargil
Service Model (currently reading)
A Close and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers
I, Robot (I did not love this)
Have yet to read Foundations
Would prefer to avoid religious themes but I have no triggers!

Our Wives Under the Sea? Never read it, but it might be that water exploration and resulting aftermath you’re looking for.
For the second: Toward Eternity by Anton Hur
The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See
Wavewalker by Suzanne Heywood
Whalefall by Daniel Kraus
haven’t read it but have flipped through it. Definitely underwater exploration/horror
For Robots/AI: Exiles by Mason Coile was really good and short.
