I tend to read books that are considered "literary" or get nominated for various literary prizes (thinking: An American Marriage, Demon Copperhead, Girl Woman Other, Salvage the Bones, Tomorrow Tomorrow Tomorrow, Long Island, The Testaments, A Little Life etc.)
I like the style and depth these types of books give me, but my main problem is these "literary" books tend to be very sad and trauma heavy.
Anyone have suggestions for a "literary" book that has a happy ending? Don't mind a bit of challenge or hardship for the characters if they end up happy at the end.
