Hello All,
I used to read very much earlier. Like harry potter, Shiva trilogy, many books of Jeffrey archer and Mathew riley etc. but now i lost interest in reading new books. I am always rereading what I was reading about 10yrs earlier and in that too i am skipping many parts and reading the portions i like. I start sometimes reading something new, but after 2-3 pages i loose interest.
Anybody facing similar issues? Any books that you can recommend for me? I really like to be that person who can laugh and cry with the book
Thanks 🙏

I’ve been going through something similar. I was such a devoted reader growing up — books were basically my whole personality. But somewhere in my 20s, I just… drifted away from it. I lost the habit, the focus, the excitement.
In 2024, I decided I really wanted to get back into reading. But around the same time, we moved houses. I could only bring around 70–80 books with me and had to leave the rest behind at our old place.
Later, when I thought of getting those books back, I realized most of them were gone. I could only find 6–7 scattered here and there. My guess is that the girls who rented the house after us sold them. I don’t know for sure, but they were just… gone. That honestly broke my heart a little. After that, I found it even harder to get back into reading.
Then sometime last December, I told myself enough is enough. I felt like my attention span was terrible and, honestly, I felt kind of stupid for not being able to sit with a book anymore. So I decided to start small. I re-read Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine, which felt comforting and familiar.
After that, I picked up two books by the Japanese author Toshikazu Kawaguchi — the first two in his six-book series. They were such effortless, gentle reads, and they slowly pulled me back into the rhythm of reading again.
It’s such an interesting and easy series to get into. I think you’d really love it too. 💛
Books are Before the coffee gets cold and Tales from the cafe.
