I just got done reading Silent Spring by Rachel Carson and, oh my God, incredible. not only is it great argumentation, not only is it incredibly elucidating and relevant 60 years later, but the prose is outstanding. It's not dry or academic, it long winded anything, it's just fucking incredible writing. I used to read a lot of NF in highschool but have read mostly speculative fiction since then, and this book has reignited my love for non fiction. I have a lot of interest in sustainability and environmentalism and even urban planning, so I was looking for a book that has similar prose and writing to Silent Posting but is also equally educational and well researched. Thanks!

It’s fiction but The Overstory by Richard Powers is astonishingly good.
*What’s left* by Malcolm Harris
I haven’t read Silent Spring yet but even though it’s not strictly about sustainability, I think you might like Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. She focuses on plants and our relationship with them, mixing in both scientific knowledge and indigenous teachings, and it’s a fascinating book. I’ve been reading a chapter every few days for a few months and it’s been a great way to reexamine my relationship with nature.
