So I just finished The Best Bad Things by Katrina Carrasco and *god damn*. Not at all a romance, not erotica (two brief sex scenes), but the constant physicality and background horniness of it while the crime/noir plot runs along, alongside the gender exploration, was 😙👌 and I *need* some more of that.
Looking specifically for sapphic and/or genderqueer/nonbinary/trans characters, and not wall-to-wall smut, genuine plot – The Best Bad Things was a pretty fast and light read but I'm happy with deeper noir, thriller, all the way up to epic fantasy or sci fi. And not every character needs to be on that level…details can be varied, I just need that energy humming through it 😅
