I have been trying to find some good authors for crime and mystery books. It's my favorite genre. I have read and liked some Agatha Christie and like how she gets to the point and the investigation starts quickly but don't necessarily like how dated they are…I have liked some Frida McFadden and like how in depth her characters are but it's mostly thriller and sometimes a slow burn. So, I want the investigation to start sooner rather than later but also want in-depth characters. I don't want a slow burn.
